Journal Templates

Overview
If you are entering the same or similar journal entries on a regular basis, it can be helpful to create a Journal Template which will pre-populate the journal entry without having to manually key in the data.

Creating Journal Templates
1. Firstly, enter a normal general journal entry using the steps in the Office Journal user guide.
2. Once the transaction details have been entered, select Actions in the top right of the screen, then select Create Template.
3. Type a Name for the journal entry, for example Depreciation.
4. Select Save in the bottom right of the screen.
Applying a Template
1. Navigate to Post Transaction from the Journal Actions menu.
2. Within the Post Journal screen select Apply Template from the Actions menu in the top right of the screen.
3. Click on the template you wish to apply.
4. Make any changes required to the Description field and Debit and Credit amounts.
5. Once complete, select Post or Post and New to create another journal entry.
