Invoice Approval Settings

Overview
Invoice approval automation allows you to set up an approval workflow process for your client invoices. The approvals are completed online in the system and prompts approvers when an invoice is ready for approval.
The approver(s) can be configured based on staff roles on the matter, as follows;
- Responsible Only - The approver is the person allocated as Person Responsible on the matter.
- Responsible, then Supervisor - The approval is firstly allocated to the person listed as Responsible person on the matter, then secondly to the person allocated as the Supervisor on the matter.
- Assisting, Responsible then Supervisor - The approval is firstly allocated to the person allocated as the Assisting Person on the matter, then secondly the person allocated as Responsible Person on the matter, then lastly to the person allocated as the Supervisor on the matter.
- None - No approval method.
Setting an approval method
Select Settings - Firm Settings, scroll down and select Matter Billing Defaults.
Responsible Only
Select the dropdown for Invoice Approval Workflow.
Select Responsible only, which will allocate the invoice approval directly to the employee listed as the Responsible Person on the matter. Click Save.
Responsible, then Supervisor
Select the dropdown for Invoice Approval Workflow. This is a two steps approval process.
Select Responsible, then Supervisor, which will allocate the invoice approval firstly to the employee listed as the Responsible Person on the matter. Once approved, the system will then automatically allocate the next approval to the Supervisor on the matter. Click Save.
Assisting, Responsible then Supervisor
Select the dropdown for Invoice Approval Workflow. This is a three step approval process.
Select Assisting, Responsible, then Supervisor, which will allocate the invoice approval firstly to the employee listed as the Person assisting on the matter, then Responsible Person on the matter then to the Supervisor on the matter. Click Save.
None
If you do not wish to utilise the automatic system approvals, select the dropdown for Invoice Approval Workflow, then select None. Click Save.
