FAQ: Can I record time on a closed matter?

A: Yes in the Desktop, No in Billing. This WIP also cannot be billed. 

In the Billing (Cloud side), time entries cannot be recorded against closed matters. However, users are able to record time against closed matters in the Desktop application, but the WIP does not flow through to the Billing side so they can't be billed and aren't included in any reporting. 

If a matter shows as closed in the Desktop, users should not record time against it as it will only sit on the Desktop matter, rendering it null and void, unless that matter is re-opened. Closed matters will show a CLOSED label on the matter page in multiple areas and also won't show up in a search; they can only be found through the Advanced Search function.
