Office Matter to Matter Transfers

Overview


Client office funds can be moved from one matter to another via the following procedure.

Performing an Office Matter to Matter Transfer

1. Navigate to the matter you wish to transfer funds from and open the Matter.


2. From the Matter Actions menu, select Requisitions


3. Click on New Request located on the top right, then select Matter to matter request. 



4. The Request to Matter to Matter Transfer screen will appear. Select Office in Journal Type (Office).  The From Matter fields will be pre-populated.



5. Select the relevant Cash Account, and enter the amount to be transferred. 


The balance of the Office funds will display. If applicable, the Credit Note balance will also display.
Refer to the end of this article for steps on how to use credit note funds. 


6. Enter a Required on date for the transfer, and the Reason for transfer. 



7. In Transfer To, search for the matter you wish to transfer funds to, by typing the Matter Number or Name into the Matter field. 

8. To assign an approver for the requisition, begin typing the name of the Approver into the Approver 
field and select from the list located at the bottom right.

9. Select the Request button in the bottom right of the screen for the request to be available to approve. 


Note: Where a request for transfer has been made, the approver will be able to view the request, approve and complete the transfer.




Using Credit Note balance to transfer to another matter 


To use amounts available from the credit note balance follow the above steps and the following, noting the Credit Note Balance on the screen. 


1. Toggle 'Use Credit Note'.



2. Enter the Amount to Transfer. Ensure the value entered is not higher than the credit note balance. 



3. Complete the remaining fields to complete the request, and select Request to process.
