Guide Overview
This guide covers how to set up a matter to be a Fixed Fee for billing purposes. Time entered onto a Fixed Fee Matter will record as non-billable.
When invoicing the matter, the total fees will be automatically set to the Fixed Fee value set on the Matter.
Setting a Matter to Fixed Fee
Select Matters on the left-hand side of the home screen.
Search and locate the matter. Double click the Matter to open the Matter Card.
Double click the Info Field to open the Matter Info
The Matter Info window will appear. Select the Billing Tab
Select the Billing Type drop down and select Fixed Fee.
Enter the Fixed Fee amount in the Fee/Estimate field.
- Click OK to save.
Overriding Fixed Fee for Time Recording
When the billing type is set to a Fixed Fee, by default the system automatically flags any time entered against that matter as non-billable.
This can be overridden upon time entry by ticking the Billable box on the timesheet.
Billing Fixed Fee Matters
When an invoice is generated for a fixed fee matter, the system will automatically pro-rata the fee entries to the Fixed Fee amount entered on the matter.
