Creating a Matter

Guide Overview

This guide will show you the steps on how to create New Matters and customise the fields that appear on the Matter Card.


Creating a Matter

Matters can be identified by the icon and colour displayed. Matters will have the letter M and be blue in colour, Leads will have an L and be green in colour. 


 

               

Matters can be created directly from a Lead, full details can be found in the user guide Managing Leads. Additionally they can be created directly within EvolveGo.

 

1. From the EvolveGo tab select New Matter      

      


2. Select the matter Area of Law and Matter Type by expanding the list using the arrows on the left and click Next.


 

3. Apply any required workflows, the Matter will now open allowing you to begin populating the information available. 



4. To add any information double click or select the plus symbol on the field to display the available fields for each option. 

 


Note: Ensure a Client, Division and Supervisor/Person Responsible have been added to the matter in order for the matter number to populate.

 

5. Complete the available information and click OK


 

 

Customise displayed fields

When new matters are created you can choose to show or hide certain fields, this ensures that you are seeing only relevant or important information. 


1. Open the Matter

2. Click on the image of the gear cog at the top of the window



3. Add or Remove any parties or data as required by checking/unchecking the check boxes and click Save
