FAQ: [How do I create a non-billable admin matter?]

This article applies to the following scenario:

  • You have an internal admin matter
  • You would like all time entries to be set as Non-billable by default
  • You'd like to exclude these matters from certain performance reports


A: Follow these steps:

  1. Locate the matter using Home > Find Matter screen
  2. Open the matter, go to the Financials tab > Matter Properties* at the bottom-right of the screen
  3. Check the "Non-Billable" tickbox
  4. Press the tab key on your keyboard (you will notice the Box and the Tickmark will turn Grey)
  5. Click Save to save the changes


Performance reports such as the Matter Profitability Report, the Fee Earner Review Report, and the WIP Billing Collection Report will not take into account any time entries entered on these matters.
