This guide explains how to lock/unlock an account.


Unlock an Account


EvolveGo System Accounts are locked to ensure transactions are not posted against them. In the event that a transaction needs to be posted to a locked account, this is how to unlock an account:


1. Navigate to the General Ledger and open the firm's Default Office Journal.
 
2. Open the Account Roles.

3. Find the account and select the Edit icon on the right-hand side. 

4. Unselect the Is Controlled box and Save. 


Lock an Account 


Users may wish to lock an account so that transactions can no longer be posted to it. To lock an account, complete steps 1-4 above but instead of unselecting the Is Controlled box, select it.
