Fee Earner Performance Reporting

Modified on Tue, 26 Mar, 2024 at 1:46 AM

Guide Overview

This guide will explain how Fee Earners can access their own performance data through selected reports, whilst being prevented from accessing other fee earners performance data.

In addition, this guide will also explain how employees who act in a Team Lead role can access the same performance reports at team level and for the individuals within that team.

Finally, the guide will also cover access to listing type reports that are now available to fee earners, such as Aged Billing, Aged Debt and Matter Balance reports.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Fee Earner Level Performance

Fee Earners attached to the Lawyer or Paralegal role who only require visibility of their own performance data will have access to the following reports:

  • Fee Earner Performance
  • Fee Earner Snapshot
  • Aged WIP

When run, the reports will be locked to that specific Fee Earner, ensuring users are prevented from seeing data for other Fee Earners.

Team Lead Level Performance Reporting

Earner Snapshot and Aged WIP reports will default (and lock) to run at team level, showing performance data for all users in that team.

This allows the user to track their team’s performance but prevents them from seeing the performance of other users outside of their team. The Team Lead role is not applicable to users assigned to Partner, Manager or Accountant roles as they already have unrestricted access to these reports.

! Before allocating the Team Lead role to users, it is crucial to ensure that users are already assigned to the appropriate Teams. This can be done on an individual level, or through the Teams menu in Firm Settings.

1. Click on Directory and select Employees

Listing Reports

Lawyer and Paralegal role users can run some Management reports such as Aged Billing, Aged Debtors and Matter Balances, but the results returned will only include the matters to which that user already has access. When these reports are run, they will again default to the appropriate Fee Earner or Team level as described above, subject to the roles assigned to the user.

However, rather than the filters being locked, they will simply default to that fee earner or team, allowing the user to modify if required. This is because the underlying matter level data contained within these reports is already available to the user through the normal course of viewing matters to which they have access.
